Veterinary medicine has made great strides in recent years. Our pets have become members of the family and enjoy much longer and more trouble-free lives, thanks to the aid of qualified and conscientious health care professionals. We have very high standards and apply them to every aspect of our practice. Our goal is to provide your pet with the most up-to-date medical care possible in their comfortable environment.
Individualized Wellness Care- Nose to tail examination, Vaccinations, Annual Bloodwork, Preventatives.
Medical Care- Nose to tail examination with recommendations to workup and determine what is going on. Additional workup including bloodwork, fecal, urinalysis is available at this time. We do not have ability for surgery or imaging at this time.
Palliative Care - Palliation is defined as relieving or soothing the symptoms of a disease or disorder at any stage of an illness. Animal palliative care guides animals’ caregivers (their human family members or owners) in making plans for living well based on the animals’ needs and concerns and on the caregivers’ goals for care. It also provides caregivers emotional and spiritual support and guidance. Palliative care is of special significance in the context of terminal illness and endoflife care.
Hospice Care - This special service is a mindset shift from curative treatment to symptom management and emotional support. Hospice care is about giving patients and caregivers control, dignity, and comfort during the time they have remaining to live. Importantly, hospice care offers spiritual support to patients and accommodates their beliefs about death and about afterlife as much as possible. It also provides spiritual and grief support for caregivers.
Quality of Life Evaluation- Quality of Life evaluation is the degree to which an individual is healthy, comfortable, and able to participate in or enjoy life events. Pets benefit from veterinary oversight and possibly from medical intervention to help provide a better understanding of the situation and treatment options.
Euthanasia- The ability to say goodbye in the place that is most familiar and comfortable for both you and your pet. A physical exam will be performed on each patient before recommendations are made. Dr. Kleefisch will review the procedure and what to expect. There are after care options of home burial or cremation (communal or private) if desired. If private cremation is elected, Dr. Kleefisch can facilitate cremation using Trusted Journey Cremation Services. There are different urn options to choose from. There will be a clay paw print and ink paw pad made at time of euthanasia service, if desired. If elected, your loved ones remains will be returned to you by MI Mobile Vet upon receipt from Trusted Journey (typically 7-10 business days).
